TEN POINTLESS FACTS ABOUT ME
Thank you David for this prompt!
Oooh I love these types of blogging prompts! Saw this in Discovery from Syl's post. Here are my answers.
1. Do you floss your teeth?
Yes, I use flossing sticks. I hated flossing with the string so I never did it. I ended up developing gingivitis and my dentist said I was on the road to periodontal disease (i.e. gum disease. My gums bled a lot). So they introduced me to flossing sticks which are a lot easier to use. Since then, my gums are a lot healthier (reduced bleeding by 80%!) and I try to floss every night, but sometimes I skip if I'm too tired or when I'm traveling.
2. Tea, coffee, or water?
Coffee! I drink Americanos. Pre-Covid I was able to drink espressos but after I got Covid I couldn't handle coffee for months. Like it would make me nauseous. Thankfully that went away, but I haven't been able to handle stronger coffees since. It's probably better for me though because of my IBS.
3. Footwear preference?
I just bought a pair of Doc Martens DMXL zip-up Chelsea boots and they are SO COMFY. I ended up retiring my 12-year-old Vagabond boots while in London. I think these will be my preferred shoe choice for the season. During the winter/spring I like to wear boots. Before this, my preferred choice was a pair of black platform crocs that I decked out with all sorts of jibbitz.
I took these right after I bought them at The Jewel mall in Singapore. The jibbitz have since been rearranged.
4. Favourite dessert?
Right now it's Indian milk cake! That shit slaps!!!
5. The first thing you do when you wake up?
Snooze my alarm, if possible. I usually wake up after the second snooze. I use Pokémon Sleep so I'm already in the app. I then check what Pokémon have appeared, feed Snorlax, and then set up my new team of Pokémon for the day. After that, I go on Instagram for 30 minutes.
6. Age you'd like to stick at?
I don't know, 5? At a time when I didn't have to work and was blissfully unaware of the state of the world?
7. How many hats do you own?
Probably around 15. I have a handful of beanies and bucket hats. I also bought a straw hat for my friend's "Bohemian" themed wedding while in Bali. It's quite nice and I think I'll hang it up as wall decor.
8. Describe the last photo you took?
Boba sitting on my empty Hello Kitty packing cube on the bed. She was sniffing all of my stuff.
9. Worst TV show?
Probably Dr. Phil. I've never watched the show, but the premise already sounds horrible. A quack doctor doling out advice while exploiting families who were probably paid actors anyway. Not my kind of show. Garbage television.
10. As a child, what was your aspiration for adulthood?
I wanted to become an artist, like my mother. Then I wanted to become a journalist or author. (Also a ballerina and an astronaut). I have no aspirations to become a journalist anymore, and as much as I would love to be an artist I don't know how I'd be able to make a living off of it. My mother eventually stopped painting and became a graphic designer because that was a more stable job. (That was the career I ended up pursuing.) At 15 I took a ballet class but was placed with 8-year-olds. It was so embarrassing that I stopped after a few classes. And an astronaut, well... You need to be good at math, science, and whatnot and even as a kid I knew that was a pipe dream.
