PREPARING FOR MY TRIP
Using this post to keep me accountable!
I'm flying to London tomorrow for a long weekend with some friends, returning on Monday. I have a list of things to do before the trip, so I thought I'd turn it into a progress/accountability post. By the time I'm ready to publish, I should have accomplished everything!
(FYI, I started writing this around 15:00 on January 22.)
1. Finish German homework ✔︎
I don't plan on doing any homework during the trip, and I'll be missing two days of German class. So before I go, I'd like to finish:
the test from today (I had to leave class early)study notestonight's homework
21:03—I did take switch tasks in between but pushed through towards the end. It's already pretty late and if I took any more breaks/task swaps I would risk not finishing it at all.
2. Pack for trip
Every time I travel, I use my ultimate packing list. It's a Notion template I created a few years ago which I then customize for every trip.

For entertainment, I usually bring a book and my Switch and end up using neither. I tend to immediately fall asleep on the plane, or just listen to music with my eyes closed. So I'm thinking I'll just bring my iPad and note down some German vocabulary words. Not exactly fun, but I've been meaning to do it.
23:28—That took way longer than I thought. I ended up looking for long-lost items like my Oyster Card that I've kept for the last 10 years(!), some old polaroids which I promptly hung up on the wall (side quest, I guess), and my old phone case cause my current one is broken. All the essentials are packed and what's left is stuff I still need in the morning.

Oh, and in true Peige-fashion I also still need to buy some things, like contact lens solution and lactose pills because I am out. I'm sure I'll have time at the airport considering I'll be there for at least 3 hours.
3. Wash all dishes ✔︎
Since we don't have a dishwasher (sigh), I need the sink to be EMPTY so I don't face a stack of dishes when I get home! Washing dishes is one of my preferred chores in this household so that's my responsibility.
23:42—DONE!
4. Plan travel day ✔︎
I still need to figure out which train to take tomorrow morning and where I'm meeting my friends. I like knowing all the details before I even leave my apartment for peace of mind.
21:37—Good thing I checked now because I forgot to do a bunch of other admin tasks like add money to my Wise card, check-in for the flight... And turns out I need to catch the 6:54 train.
ʕ ´•̥̥̥ω•̥̥̥`ʔ
I always forget that taking a flight around noon means having to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours early, and I'm ~1 hour from both Basel and Zürich. ʕ>⌓<ʔ So that's like, 4 hours total!!
ETC.
- I like to switch between tasks to keep things interesting
- I also wanted to squeeze in some
gamingand TV, but that's only if I have time
23:43—Final update. We ended up watching 2 episodes of Pokémon Horizons during dinner. But yeah I'm ready for bed now and am thinking of waking up around 5:30 so I can eat breakfast because I'm already hungry. :P I need to be out the door by 6:25 latest. So that wake-up time seems reasonable.
