I'm participating in Junited! Lately, I haven't been reading Bear Blog's Discovery or checking out my RSS feeds as much, and this prompt is a great way for me to make the time for it.

I'll be updating this post throughout the month.

✑ His Only Desire is Criticism by Rick W. • "The trick with the Critical Parent is this: He can't create anything... His only desire is criticism." I felt that.

✑ Ugh but and also by Megan Carnes • I love this pragmatic approach to gratitude because it acknowledges the bad while finding the good. I want to try it too!

✑ June 2026 Horoscopes by June • One of my favorite bloggers predicts your horoscope and inner Goosebump book.

✑ Scrambled Eggs, Curry and Other Questionable Choices by Harry • You had me at "scrambled eggs."

✑ on travelling styles by Cuifen • "Being aware of your own travel style, where you’re willing to give and take, and what you really don’t want to compromise on, goes a long way towards making holidays a fun time for everyone involved." 100% agree.

✑ Leaning Into my Love of Interior Decorating by Dartrivity • Curating and design your own personal space—no matter a room or an entire house—is so important, especially if you are a homebody.

✑ The Worst Way to Teach Your Child to Care About Their Culture by James Zhan • This post resonated with me and I 100% agree with James' take.

✑ I got a haircut and a nose ring!! by Pam • I love this post! It's important to sync up how you feel on the inside with how you want to be seen on the outside.

✑ The Language Room by Awan • This was so beautiful to read and made me feel some type of way.

✑ the girly wellness aesthetic as a white supremacist dog whistle by Ava • Good read. Aside from the cultural appropriation within these "wellness" spaces, the removal of color always made me feel uncomfortable. This makes sense!

✑ By Any Other Name by Requiem • I love obscure titles and that's what the indie blogosphere is all about. We attract who we attract. Real eyes realize real lies, etc.

✑ Friction as a ridiculously useful metric by Renzo De Guzman • Sigh, you're right. "Eat the frog," as the saying goes.

✑ re: Leave your house or die by Caliche • What a kind and gentle reminder for all of us to check our ableism.

✑ Winds in the East: The Fall of the Two-Party System by So She Writes • Living in Switzerland turned me into a socialist. Moving out of the US made me realize how fucked the 2-party system is and how we were taught (at least I was) that there was no other way.

✑ highlights from my karaoke spreadsheet by betaveros • I'm so happy you did this and now I want to make my own karaoke spreadsheet. Hell yeah.

✑ Do we still think about other people? by Em • "I think community does still exist, but people aren't willing to make the sacrifices having it requires." Em dropping big facts.

✑ I <3 Little Free Libraries by Natalie Hollander • Me too! Support your neighborhood free library and add it to the map.

✑ I am feeling the tug of old age by Devious Bloggery • The songs that sticks with me the most are the ones I listened to in my youth.

✑ 9 Games I Want to Spread (during the Steam sales) by Rambling Fox • Thanks for the recs!

✑ already in that blogging rut by The Shopkeeper • This is why I removed upvotes. I couldn't handle the pressure. Now I blog like nobody is reading (I know I have lovely readers out there, but you know what I mean!)

✑ Write it, write it, let the ugly baby come to the world by Miguel • An ugly baby still deserves to be loved.

✑ How to stand against high temperatures by Leonardo • Thank you for the tips!! And that you are so pro-fan. Daniel didn't grow up with them so he doesn't trust them.

✑ Making myself a restaurant-style meal menu by ReedyBear • This is both genius and inspiring. Thank you!

✑ "Oh, So You Are From that Country?" by Farshad Jaberzade • Since there is no upvote button this is me liking the post. I agree, just because someone's from X country doesn't mean they agree with their country's government. Unless they state otherwise.

✑ Why blog? by Diel • If I ever monetize a hobby then it is no longer my hobby—it has become work.

✑ Learning New Skills is Scary Unless You're Okay With Being Bad. by Natalie • Thanks, I needed to read this.
