I WISH I STARTED A CHANGELOG
i.e., my most recent changes here.
I didn't consider a changelog until I saw other bloggers do it. By then, I thought it was "too late." (This was like, only a week into starting Bear Blog, lol.)
Well, now it really feels like it's too late. Or more like, what's the point? I can't remember all the changes I've made, and I try to document the big ones with a blog post. I use the NEWS section on my homepage to announce the three most recent changes before deleting them forever.
A part of me wants to hold onto every memory, while the other part is telling me to just let them go.
Every day, I'm doing something to this blog. If it's not writing, I'm editing the styles somewhere on the site. These days, I've been adding more to my ABOUT section, and have been having fun styling lists* and tables.
*I thought about making a post on how I styled my lists, but the codes are out there already and I merely copy/pasted them, so I don't feel like I created anything new.
I'm no tinkerer, but learning how to code with CSS makes me feel damn near close to one. However, learning other forms of coding feels so out of reach and intimidating to me. I'm still learning about CSS and HTML.
"But," I say to myself,
"It's only been 3 months of learning. Who knows what half a year will bring?"
"Big" project
My latest project is creating a STYLE GUIDE for Pretend Typewriter. I want to take my time doing it, mostly because I want to savor the experience. It also makes me feel like a "professional graphic designer," and since I'm applying to those roles again, I should get into that headspace.
Resources
The website, CSS Tricks has been a major resource for me, as well as CSS Shapes. Sometimes I find the solutions in Stack Overflow posts as well. I search in Google (old habits die hard, ok) and browse through the first search results. If I don't find what I'm looking for, I rephrase my search using different keywords.
I should probably be updating my personal portfolio instead. But I'm having so much fun.
I really want to believe that, when you do something you love, it will pay off in some way, some day!
I hope, with some of these resources, you can beautify your space into the digital garden of your wildest dreams.
