WEEK 5
Writing in English again because my brain is tired and I just want to get all my thoughts out.
Overall
I struggled to get through the start of the week. I'm always out of sorts after I come back from holiday. Ideally, I would have needed at least 3-4 days to recuperate from a trip. By recuperating that means not having to go work or something like that and just taking my time easing back into my routine.
I only went to the gym once this week and felt like I just didn't have my shit together at all in general. But I always allow a grace period after I come back from any sort of vacation. I used to beat myself up about it, but I'm learning that I don't like when my routine gets interrupted (even if it's due to a positive thing), and it's ok that I need time to readjust.
German class
I'm now super behind on homework because I didn't have the mental capacity this week to catch up. The good news is, it's all repetition and nothing new, so I want to do it in chronological order. I booked my B2 certification exam for March 6, so I have a good month to prepare after this course ends in 2 weeks. I feel pretty confident about the timing.
Choir weekend
I came back from my choir "bootcamp" around 18:30 tonight. I had so much fun! I always dread going away for a whole weekend because the traveling part is tiring, but once we got all warmed up and starting singing, I just felt so happy to be surrounded by the queer community doing an activity that I absolutely love.
I'm also proud that I got over feeling that I wasn't good enough for this choir. Even though it's a hobbyist choir, people take it very seriously. It's a proper organization, and the board really cares about the well-being of the members and the quality of the performance. I'm really excited for our upcoming shows because I think we sound really good and I can't wait for my friends to see. There's also some theatrical elements, so I can finally live out my theater-kid dreams.*
* I wanted to try out for my high school's musical productions, but I was so shy that I crumbled during the auditions.
On Saturday I stayed in Zürich and crashed at one of the choir member's home. It was really cool, so I'll explain more in a proper post. I slept really well and had plenty of energy for another full day of choir practice. I feel less tired tonight compared to Saturday evening.
