WEEK 11

Writing in English because my brain is exhausted.

This has been a pretty intense week, especially towards the weekend. I can't remember the last time I had something like this. On the bright side, it's been a very fulfilling weekend filled with music and queer joy. But first, the less fun part.

German

I wrote a bit about this earlier in the week about my fears going into the test. The format of the SDS test felt easy. Everything was digital and it was pretty intuitive. I'm pretty proud of the 200 word essay I wrote on living in a WG, a topic I have strong opinions about!

That being said, the speaking part felt like a disaster. I knew the moderator personally, which made it worse rather than better, because I felt like she was judging me on a personal level (even though I know this isn't true!). Also, it was nothing I had anticipated for, but rather than blank, I just kept talking. I made tons of mistakes, so I wouldn't be surprised if I got a B1 (hopefully not A2!) on speaking.

I'm hoping if I'm a B2 for everything else, that I can just retake the speaking part rather than the entire test again. If this is the case, I'll give myself 2 more weeks and speak only German!

But until I get my results, I will spend the next few days relaxing and not study German. My brain needs a break.

Choir

We just finished our second concert! It's been so much fun. I plan on writing a post about it so I'll keep this brief. I'm grateful to be part of a queer community again. I've missed it! 🌈

We have another 30 minutes on this train until we are home in Lucerne. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight. I won't be setting an alarm tomorrow morning!
